XXIII International Academic Music Competition “Jurmala 2022” in organ performance
Repertoire
Category A
up to 14 years old (including)
Program of your choice up to 8 min., should include at least one piece with a pedal.
Category B
15-17 years (including)
1.) One of J.S. Bach “Eight Little Preludes and Fugues” (BWV 553 – 560)
2.) One or more compositions of free choice.
The total length of the competition program should be 13 – 15 minutes.
All compositions have to be from the original organ repertoire (not arrangements), with a pedal. Self-composed compositions are not allowed to be played.
Category C
17 – 19 years (including), provided that the participant is a student of a secondary music education institution
Recorded in video format:
1.) Composition by North German Baroque composers: Georg Böhm, Vincent Lübeck, Dieterich Buxtehude or Nicolaus Bruhns, not shorter than 5 pages of the published version of sheet music, with pedal;
2.) original piece of Latvian music for organ.

Must be played in person during the competition:
1.) J.S. Bach Choral Prelude;
2.) A piece or part of cyclic composition in Romantic style of the 19th Century up to first part of 20th Century. (original one, can not be the transcription)
Category D
19 – 25 years (including)
The total duration of the competition program should not exceed 40 minutes:
I round:
1.) Any trio or fast movement of a trio sonata by J.S. Bach (BWV 525-530)
2.) A piece or part of cyclic composition in Romantic style of the 19th Century up to first part of 20th Century. (original one, can not be the transcription)
II round:
1.) One of the preludes and fugues, fantasies and fugues, or toccatas and fugues by J.S. Bach (except BWV 533, BWV 565, 553-560);
2.) Original piece of Latvian music for organ.
